Marijuana 101
If I hear one more idiot say that Marijuana should be legal my head is going to literally explode. I have never heard anyone say this who is intelligent, successful and confident. Usually this statement comes out of the mouths of under achievers, losers and moochers. Go figure.
I am sure you have heard the same lame reasons from some of these people that I have heard. Like, "marijuana is harmless." This is baloney! Marijuana is the most widely used illegal drug among our youth today and more potent than ever. Or how about "you can't get addicted to marijuana". Really, this one really makes me laugh. Kids can get hooked on pot. I can name several in my lifetime who still cannot stop smoking. Of course these same potheads believe that there are no long-term consequences. I beg to differ. It is a fact that it can hurt academic achievement and put kids at risk for depression and anxiety. No, really this has been proven. Studies have shown that young people on marijuana have lower achievements than non-users, have more acceptance of deviant behavior, more aggression, greater rebelliousness (amen), and poorer relationships with parents (another amen). They also tend to associate more with delinquent and drug-using friends.
How many of us have heard that the government should not tell individuals what to do as long as it doesn't harm others. Well, so let's say you have a 21 year old mom with two kids. Let us say she is smoking a legal marijuana cigarette. Let us say that this is her second one of the morning and she is driving her kids around. So they are sitting in the backseat while mom is sitting up front feeling pretty good from the marijuana. She is feeling so high that she doesn't really notice that one of her babies is choking in the back seat. She also doesn't pay too much attention to that flagman ahead who is holding up that stop sign. Do you see where I am going with this?
Of course we have the argument about cost. The government could collect taxes on it and there would be more money to spend on more important things. This is the stupidest argument yet. I would rather keep it illegal and find other things for the government to collect taxes on. How about this, work harder on getting some of these families off of welfare. Strictly enforce welfare reform. If you get pregnant after you are put on welfare you are denied any more benefits. Why should we the taxpayers continue to enable your irresponsibility. Making something as destructive as marijuana legal just so we can collect taxes on it, is the weakest argument and evidence of stupidity that I have ever heard. We could make prostitution legal too, and then collect taxes on that....uh no.
I would imagine that we the taxpayers are already paying dearly for the habitual marijuana users. What is the purpose for smoking marijuana. To get high of course. Now, why does one need a substance to make them feel better. Because they feel depressed. Now, once the marijuana effects wear off, and they no longer feel mellow and happy, what happens. Oh yes, they feel depressed again, so they need to smoke another. So the cycle never ends. One day they realize they cannot stop smoking because they cannot cope in society. They want to quit but they cannot. They seek treatment but have no insurance. Who do you think is now going to foot the bill for that treatment...right!
People, do not be fooled by these (mostly young people) who debate with you why marijuana should be legal. Let us not forget that the main ingredient in marijuana is THC (delta-9-tetrahydro cannabinol). The short-term effects from this are problems with memory and learning, distorted perception, difficulty in thinking and problem solving. Loss of coordination, increased heart-rate, anxiety and panic attacks. (Do you know some people cannot even go to work until they have smoked a blunt). They cannot cope with society unless they are high. I know this to be a fact because I have someone in my own family who used to admit this.
After all of the research I have done on this subject, the only justification I could find for making it legal was for medical purposes only. I think that if a certified physician concludes that marijuana is necessary to alleviate pain for terminally ill patients then he should be able to write them a prescription. I believe it should be closely monitored to insure that the patient is not selling it to non-prescribed individuals.
Legalizing marijuana is just another excuse for someone to not have to face reality. If people need this drug or any other to feel better or stay in a constant state of high, then there is something wrong and that person needs psychiatric treatment. Medicating yourself so that you can make it through the day and not be depressed is not the answer. There will come a time when a marijuana cigarette will not do it for you any longer. To me it is like anything else addictive, there will never be enough of it to make you feel better. This is when people turn to other things to replace the high that marijuana no longer provides.
I will pray that marijuana never becomes legal. We have enough trouble in this world with our young people just trying to survive. Nothing good can come from providing a legal way for our young people to medicate themselves just to feel happy.

Envy
Let us not confuse Envy with Jealousy. It has become evident lately that there is someone that I do not directly know but I feel I have come to know her through her writings. I am concerned because this person seems to have all the characteristics of Envy towards me. Let us first post the definition of Envy as defined by Wikipedia:
Envy (also called invidiousness) is best defined as an emotion that "occurs when a person lacks another's (perceived) superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it."[1]
Envy can also derive from a sense of low self-esteem that results from an upward social comparison threatening a person's self image: another person has something that the envier considers to be important to have. If the other person is perceived to be similar to the envier, the aroused envy will be particularly intense, because it signals to the envier that it just as well could have been he or she who had the desired object.[2][3]
Bertrand Russell said envy was one of the most potent causes of unhappiness.[4] It is a universal and most unfortunate aspect of human nature because not only is the envious person rendered unhappy by his envy, but also wishes to inflict misfortune on others. Although envy is generally seen as something negative, Russell also believed that envy was a driving force behind the movement towards democracy and must be endured to achieve a more just social system.[5]
I am not sure exactly when the envy started or why, but I believe it had something to do with the fact that no one had ever stood up to this person before. I made it very clear from the beginning that I was a force to be reckoned with and this person became very aggressive towards me from the get go.
Over the months it seems to have escalated. Now this person has become consumed by me and everything that I post. They have dedicated an entire blog to me. They have tried just about every way they can think of to discredit me and it simply blows up in their face.
What really concerns me is that this person is now showing the characteristics of being a narcissist. Narcissist is defined by Wikipedia as:
A narcissist may secure a sense of superiority in the face of another person's ability by using contempt to minimize the other person.
This is what has been happening lately. This person is so taken over with envy about my success in blogging and forum moderating that they are constantly accusing me of using fake names, creating hundreds of emails and exaggerating my viewers. They have made up videos about me, farfetched stories and started their own group just to create an alliance against me.
I am very concerned for this person and anyone that she comes in contact with. I truly believe she could be a danger to others as well as herself. I am afraid if this obsession does not cease, I will have no other choice but to involve law enforcement or perhaps even have her involuntarily committed.
This could be serious.

Be Careful What you Say!
Who knew that such a big deal would be made over the use of two words - Yard Apes
There are many definitions of this term but naturally the racist whiners only want to point out the ones that refer to black children. Well, here is one definition that I bet you didn't hear about:
A small child, roughly between the ages of 2 and 8 years, who hangs out in a back yard, usually white, usually male and usually suburban.
This was the definition used extinsively in magazine advertisements and television shows, especially comedy, during the 1980's and 90's

"Heavens to burgitroid, what is that detestable little yard ape doing in my movie? He's ruining it!
Should I be offended because this definition could easily be referring to one of my sons when they were little. No, I am not offended. I am not so easily offended. I have been called, too tall, too fat, too skinny, weird eyes, big butt, nagging woman, fat bitch, etc. etc. etc.
Have I ever had someone refer to my race in a negative way, you betcha. I have been told I have white girl hair. I have been told I run like a white girl. I have been told I was a weird honky. Do you know what I did when I heard those things, nothing. The reason those words do not offend me is because I know who I am. I am confident enough to know that when people have to use terms like that, it is usually their insecurities, not mine.
Where was the outrage when the movie came out "White men can't Jump"...I did not see the National Association of White People come out in disgust. You know why, because there is no such group. Can you imagine if we tried to have "National White Day", Or the NAAWP? There would be an outcry from the Black people like you have never seen.
We get it, your ancestors were slaves, they were treated badly, but that was then. You have equal rights now. You have had those rights for a long time, but it doesn't seem to be enough for some. Some do not want "Equal Rights" any longer, they want "Special Rights". Well, you know what, too bad. The only difference between me and a black person is the color of our skin. We both should have to work hard for the things we want in life. We both should have the same entitlements because we deserve them, not because your skin is darker than mine.
We need to stop focusing on "words" that people use. Who am I to Judge whether someone was being racist or not when they used a particular word. No one knows your heart except you. NAACP just makes it easier for people to scream "Racist" by coming out and accusing someone's intentions when they don't even know that person. It is getting ridiculous when you have to stop and consider whether something you say is going to offend someone. They are just words people, get over it.
Know who you are. Be confident in your abilities. If you hear someone use a word that offended you, just tell them and if they are any kind of a person, they will apologize. Then MOVE ON. No need to call in the NAACP or Jesse Jackson, just go on. When you make a big deal out of it, it does not bring people together, it only divides you further.
Words hurt yes, but ACTIONS speak much louder than words. So, let us move on. I have better things to do than worry about foolish stuff like this, my Yard Ape will be coming home from school soon.

Sad and Funny
I have to tell you, I have never been so entertained than watching some of these idiots who will say or do anything to win the upcoming election. What is even funnier, is watching some of their supporters. If the candidates fate was left up to some of these people, no one would win.
I am not sure if this race is solely responsible for bringing out the childishness in some of these people or if this is the way they conduct their everyday lives. I have seen grown women act like cheerleaders, I have seen grown men playing wannabe detectives and watched groups of people teaming up against a single individual like schoolyard bullies. This is hilarious!
What ever happened to moms acting like real mothers. Dad's setting good examples for their children. What happened to political candidates running on the issues and telling us what they would do for our city if elected. No, now you have dads running around town with camera's, others getting on internet forums claiming they keep getting phone calls about their opponent's lying on them! You have grown women who form an alliance against the lone mom and nana in town who speaks her mind. They go so far as to make up a club name and meet at an "undisclosed location" to proudly display their new gang t-shirts and take a blood vow not to mention "she who cannot be mentioned"....oh my God, is that not the most foolish thing you have ever heard, and these are GROWN women.
And we wonder why kids of this generation are turning out the way they are! Look at these examples above and you will see why you have teenagers disobeying authority and showing disrespect to their elders. You will see why parents no longer know how to parent because it is more important that they are their children's best friend. These fools are teaching their children that when you don't agree with someone, it is okay to belittle them, form an alliance against them and make yourself feel more important to form a "gang" because you have no guts to stand on your own two feet. Does no one else find this absolutely pitiful?? Please don't cause more embarassment to yourself claiming I am jealous, maybe at 12 I would have been, but at almost 50 I find it very sad.
After witnessing all of this going on in the past year I realized that this is probably the way it has always been. It would explain clearly why even when I was in school I had to be subjected to the most rudest, mean, arrogant, and disrespectful peers. This is all they knew. And now they have grown up to be the same way their parents were and the vicious cycle just keeps repeating.
Before 2 years ago I didn't even know what a forum was. I didn't know what blogging was all about. I honestly did not realize that local politics could be so down and dirty. Like a bunch of children in a playground squabble. I wish I could just go back to being clueless about all of it. I wish I could just go back to being the normal mom and nana. Just go back to being Jacob's mom and Chris' wife. But it is what it is now. I am now the dreaded Abbysnana. The lady who just lives her day to day life to make others miserable. The one woman who has set her sites to ruin a man's life. The one person no one is allowed to mention at a Saturday afternoon gathering. Yes, she is dangerous, and we must avoid her at all costs.
I keep hoping I will wake up and be just that normal, plain ole mom and wife again, but then I turn on my computer and realize that all this foolishness is never going to go away because this is the internet. This is the kind of stuff that some people thrive on because their everyday lives are just too boring. This is the kind of juicy stuff that keeps their blood flowing and makes them feel alive. I am so happy that I can be a part of that. The great comfort that I have is this, if my computer were to blow up today and my internet be taken away forever, I would still go on living and being happy and thankful for all that God has given me. My inner happiness and content is something no one can ever take from me, and that is my comfort, what is yours?

No Spieling!
For those of you who may not know what spieling is, it is a lengthy or extravagant speech or argument usually intended to persuade.
What ever happened to just going into a restaurant and having the Server come up to you and introduce them self and asking "what can I get for you tonight". Oh no! Now you have to sit through a 3 minute spiel about how their steaks are cooked, would you like to try something from the bar and a never ending list of the appetizers that they offer.
You need to remember, this is not just a good employee wanting you to know all of this stuff, this is an employee who has been forced to do this with every single customer and their job usually depends on it. What I mean by that is, if a "secret shopper" were to come in and get a Server who did not do "the Spiel" than many marks would be counted against them and upon evaluation this server could lose their job.
So it is not just based on doing a good job and working hard, as to weather you keep your job or not. It is now based on how many things you can sell these people before they order their actual meal. This doesn't just stop with the restaurant business, it is becoming more prevalent in many different markets.
For example, going to a tanning salon. I remember when you could just walk in to a tan salon and tell them you would like to pay for 10 visits. Oh no way, now you have to purchase a "package" which usually consists of entering into a 12-month contract. Not only that, it must be automatically debited from your account on a certain day of the month. In many instances if you want to get out of that contract you have to pay a fee.
If you think you are just going to get out of there with only your tanning visits, think again. I have realized that these teenage tanned employees are trained to sell you hundreds of dollars worth of products whether you need them or not. If you have the audacity to say no thank you, they will proceed to lecture you on the dangers of not using their lotions and only if you buy today you will get 25% off your first product.
Sorry, but it doesn't end there. Every single time you walk through that door, just to get your 15 or 20 minutes of tanning relaxation you will receive a new lecture from a new teenage tanner on the dangers of not buying one of their products. Gee...you think they work on commission?
Look, all I want is to go to a restaurant and order my food and eat. All I want is to go to my tanning appointment and tan and relax. Stop the pressure! It was bad enough when we had to put up with the pressuring car salesman or the door to door vacuum cleaner geek, now these people are making the simple pleasures in life not so pleasurable anymore!!
